John Harvey CPA, MBT

President, General Securities Principal

John Harvey is the founder and CEO of Cornerstone Real Estate Investment Services as well as a general securities representative and the general securities principal (FINRA series 24, 7, and 63). He received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1989 and a Master of Business Taxation in 2001 from the University of Southern California, Leventhal School of Accounting. As an undergraduate student, John was recognized for high scholastic achievement with a USC Trustee Scholarship and as a graduate student by the USC chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma. Currently, John is a USC Marshall Partner member at the University of Southern California. He began his career in 1989 with the Beverly Hills office of Ernst & Young as a tax consultant to high-net-worth celebrities. John has been a licensed CPA since 1991 and has worked as a tax consultant for Price Waterhouse and as a senior manager at Deloitte in Los Angeles.

John draws upon his deep knowledge of tax law and extensive real estate experience to assist Cornerstone clients with developing innovative tax and portfolio diversification strategies utilizing Delaware statutory trust properties and other alternative real estate investments offered through WealthForge Securities LLC (member FINRA, SIPC). He is a licensed real estate broker in the state of California and a member of the Real Estate Investment Securities Association, National Association of Realtors, the Federation of Exchange Accommodators (FEA), and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

John is an elite adviser for Cornerstone, assisting investors in the purchasing of over $2 billion in alternative real estate properties. He has assisted investors in more than 2,200 investment transactions and 951offerings. John is a co-author of Modern Real Estate Investing: The Delaware Statutory Trust. These credentials, together with his business knowledge and real-world experience, allow the firm to offer in-depth real estate advice on Section 1031 exchange replacement properties with a view to the effects on income and estate taxation.

On a personal note, John is a founding member of the Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC, and a compatriot of the Sons of the American Revolution in Virginia. He has three teenage children, is a licensed scuba diver, and has traveled extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and South America.
